Director, Theatre Program
Theatre Studies and Religion, 1997
MFA, Directing, University of Texas
Director of Theatre, Oglethorpe University
I received an MFA in Directing from UT Austin and was a freelance director in Atlanta and Houston, TX before returning to Atlanta to teach full-time at Oglethorpe University. I'm also a company member of Out of Hand Theatre, founded by several of my Emory colleagues.
I just directed a play in Houston by Steve Yockey, a former Atlanta playwright who also taught at Emory several years ago.
Highlights at Emory
My most recent highlight was returning to Theatre Emory to direct The Skin of Our Teeth. While still a student at Emory, there are SO many highlights: classes with Professors McDonough, Evenden and Murphy, working for Pat Miller, directing Fefu and her Friends for SAP, and acting in world premiere TE productions, just to name a few.
Ultimately, my experience at Emory gave me a professional model to follow, not only in terms of work ethic and process, but intellectual and creative rigor.
